This sounds like a mirror imagine of what my previous boy had, his started when he was under 1, it started with scans and then he had a biopsy of his intestine to determine that it was IBD, once he was healed from the biopsy which took a while and he had lost a huge amount of weight he was skeletal, they then put him on prednisalone and chemotherapy tablets which worked brilliantly for at least 3 years but then he started having problems again and I was like you he wouldn't eat any of the good quality foods which I don't think helped. Eventually he was spending a fair bit of time at the vets, one day he was in discomfort and I rushed him to the vets, they scanned him and said his intestine had ruptured, they persuaded me to let them operate on him they cut out the damaged piece of intestine and I was told it was cancer, he stayed at the vets for several weeks but was never himself again. They sent him home with me but the next day I had to get the vet to come to the house to end his suffering, I wish I had never been persuaded to go through with the last operation. He was only 5 years old when we lost him. It still haunts me to this day. I really hope you can your cats problem under control.
