New to the forum, was looking for some information and started reading some of your experiences and figured I would say hi rather than just lurk. This is Kuma and she's 11 weeks old, I've had her for a week tomorrow. The noises she makes are great, I picked up a laser pointer to see if she liked it and she started making a noise that I could only relate to absolute excitement as she chased the little dot at high speed. This lasted for about 15 minutes, then she went back to her favourite toy, a 79c shoelace that she brings to us when she wants to play with it.

Here are some pictures of our little bundle of fun ( who has also found that socks are a great toy, especially the moving ones that make loud noises when she latches on and gives them a nibble ).

Aww, what a cutie pie. Usually bengal kittens don't leave a breeder until they are 12 weeks, but it looks like she has settled in nicely. Get ready for years of adventures. There is never a dull moment with a bengal around. Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome and I'm looking forward to having a cat with a personality. I've had cats/kittens before but first time having a Bengal and I find myself laughing at quite a few things she does already.

She did come home a bit early at just under 11 weeks, I had read 12-14 weeks was normal for them. The breeder is right around the corner from me, so perhaps that helped ( she was only in her carrier for 2 minutes ). If she looked stressed at all then I might have been concerned, but when we opened the door to her carrier she immediately came out and started playing in her litter box. I open the carrier facing the litter so she can find it right away rather than having to be shown, haven't had any accidents yet.

I use laser pointer occasionally, but I think cats are far more satisfied with dabird/nekofly/flying frenzy types of toys because they get to catch them, which I think is an important aspect of the game (and actually a neat little behavior to witness). When mine catch them, they parade around proudly with the toy in their mouth (dragging the wand behind them). Then eventually drop the toy, when they want the chase to continue.

Oh my, what a sweet-looking face with puffy whisker pads. She seems to be giving smiles all the time like the Russian Blue, a gem.

Sounds like fun and games with her. Your lives will never be the same. Bengals are not like your ordinary cats. They are much more social and active, as you can tell. She sounds like a real treasure. Enjoy her.

Reading some of the other things people have gone through with bringing one home, I feel very fortunate she adapted so well ( pretty much immediately ). Not sure if it was because of the short move or because we sat there at the breeders playing with her and her siblings for about an hour before she was put in her carrier ( and my wife talked to her all the way home ). Although I've never had any issues with cats adapting to our house.

I've been working on getting her to wear a collar which has been fun but she only pops it off about once a day now. Here is a picture of how impressed she was wearing one.

Now the fun part is trying out different foods. When we got her she was eating Nutro Chicken and brown rice, apparently the litter did not care for blue buffalo so I'm trying her with Nature's variety instinct which is a lot less filler. Gave her a half a can of "rabbit" which did not get rave reviews from my son this morning when it finished processing, but she seemed to absolutely love it.

I love the energy and that she still finds time to cuddle. I put a 12' shelf with carpet above the TV to remove it as an overwatch position ( she hasn't tried jumping up there, but not something I want to find out is how durable a screen is against those rear claws ). We watched BBCs "Hunt" last night, she seemed quite interested in a few of the prey and even re-enacted some of the stalking scenes with my feet as the prey a bit later, and again while I was trying to sleep, then again this morning when I got up. I've been working on associating the word "ouch" with her using her claws, but I think she's a bit young to not use them.

Kittens love using their claws. I don't know of an owner of a kitten that didn't get scratched at some point. The food issue is always fun. Mine is not a fan of rabbit. We stick to chicken, turkey and beef. We've tried duck and venison with no success. And I don't eat those either.
