Just had to take Freya to the vets again:(
On Monday night i noticed a small lump around the wound site and deceided to phone the vet Tuesday morning, well that burst open on Tuesday just as i was leaving for work a bloody water leaked out, straight to the vet. It wasn't a abcess but whilst Sandra (vet) wasn't overly worried she said it was rare. Freya had antibiotics and was due for a check up Thursday morning.
I left them together for the first time today as Freya had really picked up and they were howling when i seperated them. Hubby left work early and all was well - so idiot me gave them a treat, their favorite a chicken thigh. Freya had trouble eating it so i took her buster coller off watched her for 10 mins (its really funny as she growls when eats raw meat!) went to get changed - i was away for 5 mins -when i got back she had stopped eating the chicken and started on herself! I feel so guilty, she has opened up the outside layer of skin and chewed the edges of the wound - all in 5 mins i don't know how she managed to do so much damage in a short space of time. Anway they have kept her in so Max won't fiddle with it and they are going to sedate her in the morning (as she has a full stomach) and re-glue her.
Sorry this was so long but i can't stop worrying as we left she howled and stretched her paws out to me - she is a real Mummy's girl
How do i make having a buster collar on a better experience for her, she hates it and is always trying to get it off, but now it will be on for another 2 weeks at least as she wasn't healing fast before she became a canibal!
Chrissy (guilty)
