Reluctant raw diet eaters!
When I got my 2 little cherubs last year, they'd been brought up on a broad diet, Hill's Science/Royal Canin, a variety of manufactured wet food, cooked white fish and minced chicken wings/whole chicken wings.
They never seemed overly keen on the minced wings and because I wasn't really wanting to invest in a mincer, I stopped it. Treacle will play with a whole wing but doesn't really eat it and there's nothing worse then treading on a half chewed chicken wing in the dark, where its been dragged out of the utility room into the hall
!! So that got phased out too!
HOWEVER, since taking Lil back to the breeder I got them from, for her dirty weekend, and since talking to others far more knowledgeable than me, and since finding that my Kenwood Chef's mincer attachment will cope with wings, I've been trying to reintroduce it.
IF I heavily disguise it in either Whiskas "Oh So..." or cooked pollack, I can get about 1 large tsp into them, between 2 of them, twice a day, any more than that and Treacle takes one look at it, looks at me then starts scraping the floor like he's covering a poo (little sod
). I've ordered some ground rabbit (yuk) on the advice of Ren to see if it makes a difference. Any other ideas? I've read some of the raw diet sites.
