Welcome back. I'm sorry it's under these circumstances. If you Google "cataract cats pictures," you will find photos that look very similar to the one you posted. Bengals are more prone to cataracts over your DSH. Thankfully, there are vets who specialize in ophthalmology these days -- and the cataract can be surgically removed. I'm sure it's not cheap. The specialist will diagnose and go over the treatment options with you.

Cataracts are the clouding of the cornea and the light is reflecting off the cloudiness. This impacts your cat's eyesight.

Hi Sherry! Thanks so much for checking... We are pending visit to ophthalmologist... Will update as soon as it's done, I'm really curious about this (and a bit concerned it may be a symptom of something like retinal atrophy - as that's the only thing I've found with hyperreflectivity mentioned)

Congenital cataracts are common in purebred cats. Now at least you know what it is and that it can be removed at some point. I'm sure you're relieved to at least know the cause.
