Hi all I'm back again after the loss of our much loved 7 year old Bengal Girl through Cancer, last year :)

Soon after we decided to get 2 more Bengal Boys Fudge & Leo who are now coming up to 12 months old and we love them dearly. We have had a problem with Fudge from the day we got him in terms of loose and sloppy poo's and in the 12 months he has been to the vets on several occassions and had a few tests done with his stool samples.

His first stool sample back in Feb this year come back with E-Coli which was treated with Antibiotics from the vets and since then we have tried Probiotic from the Vets which seamed to work for the first week or so and most recently again more Probiotics last week which firmed the stools up but only gave it for 3 days as advised on the box and now going back to sloppy.

The Vet originally said he could just have a sensitive belly and we could go ahead and do blood tests which I was not keen on and would much rather try sort this other ways.

I can't understand no matter what we give him chicken & rice for a week he goes back to sloppy poo or starts normal with a sloppy top and sometimes we notice a little bloody mucas at the end.

His recent poo sample test come back normal this was about 6 weeks ago and I'm sure if I sent another sample off that would also come back normal but something must not be right and we are trying so hard to try and sort the poor little bugger.

We have tried all the recommended foods and diets and currently he is on a Fresh cooked ( Boiled ) chicken breasts cut up small and Royal Cann Kitten wet food along with Royal Cann Dry Kitten also.

We are not bothered about the cost and never give either cat cheap food,we just want to get his poo'ing normal like our other bengal Leo.
We are at the end now hitting a brick wall to where we go next hence this post as I know some very good people on these forums that might be able to advise me.

I know you will ask so here is a little picture of Fudge Brown & Leo who is Silver both Boys

Honestly, Brian actually gave the response I was going to. I agree with him. There are cat foods with limited ingredients that you might want to try as pet food companies are adding starches, fruits, veggies, etc. You want to keep it as clean as possible and that way you can try chicken, turkey, seafood, rabbit, venison, duck, etc. and rule out which "meat" is causing the issue.

My bengal is under a specialist's care for Inflammatory Bowl Disease. He has had loose and runny stools for a while. I give him FortiFlora daily in his food and he is on a medication that still isn't firming the stools up. They are better, but not where they need to be. This may just be his life. Some bengals just have a very sensitive digestive system. The vet put him on the Hills I/D diet, which he likes.

I'm sure the vet has run all the blood tests -- mine has very low vitamin B12 levels, so we are supplementing that. B12 helps in the absorption of the nutrients from the intestine. We also have done two ultrasounds to find the small intestinal wall is thickened. There are non-invasive tests that can be run. There are also very invasive tests -- like scoping from both ends, biopsies on lesions, etc.

My bengal is 11-1/2 years old. Yours is only 11 months, so a lot of years to go with this condition.

Ok let me try to explain a little better over the 10 months that we have had him.

We have tried restricted diets just chicken and other foods over the 10 months which was introduced slowly not just a change of food.
We have had him on a NON chicken diet also which did nothing.

We have had him tested twice for parasites first test come back E -coli nothing else and the second test nothing.

We have never had a blood test done or an ultrasound these are ultra expensive and because he came to us like this we had to tell the Insurance ( Or the Vets told them when we last claimed should I state ) who won't cover any digestive illnesses now with fudge as he was seen within the first 14 days.

Ok, that makes sense now. So you've pretty much ruled out a food allergy it sounds like. A lot of people here have managed symptoms like this in their cats by going to specifically a raw diet, which may be a varient of something you've already tried. If that is something you are interested in pursuing further, hopefully one of the many raw cat food people here will speak up.

If not, there are resources like catinfo.org and this facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/CatCrap/

Otherwise, your vet may unfortunately be your best resource. Btw, I wouldn't think that blood tests would be a very expensive item. Ultrasound, sure, but blood tests don't normally break the bank do they?

Thanks for the replies and advise and a blood test here in the UK starts around £150 from our vets.

Looking into food again and come up with the 2 below which I am looking to try and sure Leo will be fine but unsure about Fudge but I have picked high meat content and gran free.
