We are getting desperate for help. We have two Bengals & one Cheetoh cat all with blood in stools. This has been going on for a year now. We've spent a fortune at vets, tests, diet changes, multiple types of medication including cattle drench with no luck. The medication would clear things maybe for a week or so then it would start all over again. The vet didn't want to continue further treatment as it was known to cause mental issues. They appear happy & health but we are very concerned for their wellbeing!

Welcome to our forum. While I honestly have no idea what is going on, did your vet ever test for Tritrichomonas foetus? This is not a test they can run in their office. It has to be sent out! The parasite can live without being active for years and then appear. I don't believe there is a physical issue with the digestive tract because BOTH of your cats have this. Know that TF is highly transmittable and only one drug will get rid of it. When you have two or more cats, it is extremely hard to get rid of it due to the continued cross contamination between the cats. One of our members had to have her two cats boarded and separated and treated to get rid of it.

Read up on TF and see if the symptoms sound familiar with your cats. If so, then ask the vet to test for it. Your normal lab test for parasites will not pick this up. There is no need for your babies to continue like this. Something is definitely amiss -- and it needs to be discovered and treated.
