A cat who is lethargic has an issue! You said he did not drink water for two days -- did he eat? When a baby has no appetite, it's a sign that something is absolutely wrong and what bothers me is when a vet can't determine the problem and tries to prescribe something that may or may not help. Giving a cat fluids when the cat is not dehydrated is not something I recommend unless they want the kidneys to function better. Probably the fact that your kitty had not had any water in two days signified to the vet that fluids were needed.
The only way to determine if something is wrong is to go with more testing -- scans, which can be very expensive. There could be a slight obstruction somewhere in the digestive tract -- your baby may have swallowed something that can't quite make it through the digestive tract. Your kitty cried out in pain when touched in that area.
Know that your bengal is never going to slow down! So any time there is a change in behavior, you need to take notice and after 24 hours with no improvement, take the kitty to the vet. Based on your post and the fact that the kitty is still lethargic, something is wrong. Know that cats can go downhill extremely quickly past the point where they cannot be helped. Please do not let this happen to your baby. If it means going with additional, expensive testing, to eliminate other issues, it should be done.
Hope the little one feels better soon.
