So someone asked me if my Bengal boy didn't have a pinch look to his muzzle and if he met the standard - I don't really care if he does, but she's one of those really snobbish people who believes all bengals look terrible... Yet I find myself curious as to what she actually means?
Could anyone help me out here?

I don't know anything about the standard or stuff like that - I just kinda want to be able to tell her that he's not "second rate" (if I can) I'm getting a Bengal despite their attempts to talk me out if it (primarily people who have only seen them at shows and apparently think bengals are an affront to nature/ugly/not for me) I just want to be able to deter any notion they might have that since I'm inexperienced as to picking a Bengal they think he's either second rate or not a "real" Bengal (sorry, it's like half of them are super annoying and get on my nerves, the other half are great and supportive)

Please help me with some arguments for these somewhat "fanatic" breeders of other breeds and moggie supremacists.

If you google it, you can find the breed standard for bengal show cats. For the muzzle, TICA specify,

Muzzle: Full and broad, with large,
prominent whisker pads and high,
pronounced cheekbones. Slight muzzle
break at the whisker pads.

Whether or not your cat meets the shape considered ideal in the showing world is not really relevant if you are getting him as a pet. Most pet bengals are probably imperfect compared to the ideal (which is somewhat arbitrary anyway, presumably based on the cat being as ALC-looking as possible). Excellent examples of breed type are likely only to be available as show and breeding cats, and considered too special to be just pets, at least until they retire.

Someone who thinks all bengals look terrible would find another fault in yours if they though he had a perfect muzzle; their problem appears to be with the breed, not with your particular cat.

What matters is that you love him, and you think he looks fantastic.

My cat is not a perfect example of the breed type - she has a longer tail than is considered ideal for instance, although I actually prefer it like that - but every day I look at her and I am amazed again at how stunning she is. She's spoiled me for ordinary moggies now! Everyone who sees her exclaims over her looks. You'll probably find it's just the same with your boy, and no real bengal lover would diss any of them for being less than champion standard in appearance.

First of all, how much does this person actually know about bengals? We bengal owners don't even know everything about what makes a good "show" kitty. And if you aren't going to "show" your kitty, who cares. Nevada is a spectacular cat and a purebred bengal -- that's all that matters. Sometimes I think people get a little jealous? And many times, a bengal is just not for the other person! Please, please, please stop worrying about other people and what they thing. Honey, it's not worth it and not good for your anxiety and stress. There are always going to be nay-sayers around -- do not let them influence you -- do not let their words bother you! I hope that once you finally have your hands around little Nevada, all of this is going to go away!!! We are on this forum have seen your pictures and video -- we know what a gorgeous baby you are getting. Stick with the people who know best! {{{HUGS}}}

Clearly this person is jealous of your perfectly beautiful bengal. I wouldn't value their opinion on much else either.

Does it matter what other people say, he is gorgeous, you love him and that's the end of it.

I couldn't care less if anyone said anything about my 2, as far as I'm concerned they are perfect and I love them both dearly.

Nevada is spectacular and you will see for yourself when you get him. Family can be cruel and negative. You don't need that in your life. Things may change once they see the kitty, but ... be cautious when introducing Nevada to strangers and please make sure he doesn't escape through an open door when people come and go. As soon as mine hears the doorbell, he is right there at the door. If I open it, he will run very low to the ground through a person's legs to get outside. I have to put him into our bedroom and close the door to welcome guests. Same when they are ready to leave. Raiden would be outside 24/7 if he could be.

Looks like a pretty perfect bengal to me. They are meant to have a wide nose and prominent whisker pads. Sound like the relatives are just a wee bit jealous . Some people just cannot help themselves with their mean remarks Pity them. To be quite honest I don't care a jot that my bengal is not show worthy due to a rib bar! Who cares? He is a much loved rescue cat. He will never be a show cat and he will always just be my perfect boy It's you that is getting the gorgeous fur baby. DO NOT LET THEM SPOIL A MINUTE OF IT!!!
