I am new to this whole cat show thing. I'm doing a ton of research for showing, and I'm not planning on showing anytime soon (I'm going to go watch and get a feel for the environment before entering Buster).

My Bengal is from a shelter, so he would be in the Household Pet class. Anyone shown in this type of class before? What exactly do they look for?

Any other tips? I see most of these shows in my area are "bring your own cage", so I'm guessing I need to buy some type of cage?

HHP is basically to do with the condition of the cat and the temperament and is a really fun class to be involved in. It's important for example your cat is healthy - so by condition it's meant that the cat is a good weight and not under or over weight. Their coat is healthy, their eyes are bright and clear, their ears are clean, they are happy and don't mind being handled etc.

Find out from the show manager what size cage you need first and then ask if they can link you to any suggestions.
