Dog showing is really different than cats.

It's hard to tell how well a cat is going to show - temperament is a huge factor - if the judges can't pick them up and judge them you are done before you start.

The simplest thing to do is to take your kitten to a show. If you want to show, you can start already at 5 months and see if it works for them. Start with just a day and see if you and he like it.

My advice is to attend a show without your kitty and see the atmosphere there and whether you think your cat would enjoy it. You can talk with the breeders and get a feel for exactly what your kitty will be put through to be judged. If your baby doesn't have the temperament for it .... you shouldn't do it, regardless. It's a commitment that takes time, travel and money and can take a while to move up the ladder to even get Championship status.
