Well i think we need a separate thread to Tim and Zions thread to discuss the Early Generation cats, what as a buyer we should be looking for, what is good and bad in an EG cat, what the standard is etc....

Tim and Zions thread was going astray on general EG discussion as opposed to what it should be about, which is Zion...

It would be nice to have lots of input here from breeders and anyone who has an EG or is interested in buying 1 in the future...

It would be very useful for the uninformed potential buyers to know what the breed standard is for Foundation cats, NOT ALL F CATS ARE CREATED EQUAL...and to know what a good typey foundation cat should look like...
And how to recognize good type and good socialization...

Hi Miki,
Yes I was referring to Winnie.. She is such a happy & friendly girl.. I would happily take on one of her F2 kittens based on Winnie's personality, having seen her raise kittens in the past & knowing the home environment.. But, having said that, Winnie is my only experience of an F1.

There are so many other factors to consider, and I am really interested to learn so much more about EG's...

Hi Everyone

Here is the beginings of a new thread about EG kittens and cats.

I'd like to start with the subject of choosing the right kitten and what age a kitten should be before it is offered for sale ?

Taking into account the

Character of the kitten
Overall appearance of the kitten
Matching the prospective buyer to the right kitten

Please feel free to add other topics relevant to this thread e.g pictures of their development (1 week old 2 weeks old etc) and any archives of other matings, where relevant information can be found, and what preparations you made for the kittens homecoming etc etc.

It is intended that this should be a positive experience for all concerned whether this is simply reading the info to develop some understanding of foundations and thier needs or to help anyone decide whether they would like such a kitten.
