Well my opinion is that the Bengal breed is an expensive breed as it is. Fair enough though for those breeders who import, and who want to add fresh lines to their programs; hence to improve the quality etc… Importing is VERY expensive, especially now that the shipping costs have more than doubled
, and so charging higher prices for kittens of any colour can be justified I think.
For those breeders that don’t have that huge added expense, then I personally cannot see any justification in charging such ridiculous and differentiating prices for their pet/breed/show/brown/silver/snow Bengals.
I see it time and time again. You only have to peruse a dozen websites or so and see the sheer difference in ‘quality’ now with Bengals. Arguably, a lot of Bengals shouldn’t even make it into breeding programs, be they snow, brown, silver… but still some breeders will charge ‘silly prices’ for Bengal kittens, and kittens at that as they looked 10+ years ago.
Pet owners are wising up now, and perhaps that is why some breeders are noticing a lack of enquiries, and questioning the prices?
