Right, just wanted to start a thread on lockets after seeing the pics in showing. Where do they come from? Can parents without lockets still produce them? Are there certain lines that carry them?

Any info on this would be much appreciated, thank you

My Perkin has one on his stomach/groin area:



I don't mind though... his coat is still lovely, and I have no plans to show him anyway.



I don't think either of his parents have one, and his grandfather (on both sides) is a supreme grand champion, if that helps?

Ahhh thank you nutkitty! Think this thread is turning out to be very informative & seeing a locket on another part of the body is definitely going to help.

I adore Perkin & I know others on here feel the same! Completely agree with you in that hey so what Perkin is still just as beautiful!!

OK I'm not sure here but just wanted to ask does Perkin have Calcatta Custom Made on his ped? I'm pretty sure he does, but hope you don't mind me asking!

If it is recessive then it is possible that neither of his parents have lockets but they will both carry the trait in order for him to show it.

As they say recessives are forever, cats can carry a trait through many generations and it is only when they meet another cat carrying the same trait do you see it in the kittens.
