Why doesn't the TICA force breeders to do the correct tests on breeding cats before breeding to wean out genetic diseases?

If both cats haven't been tested then I think the litters born should only be allowed to be sold on the non-active register. That way only the healthies lines will go on to reproduce.

TICA isn't a regulatory agency for health care in cats. Testing is expensive and it's strictly voluntary. It would be very difficult to enforce something like this on ALL breeders. The bengal pedigree website now shows cats and lineage that have been tested.

I just think that testing should be expected and not a voluntary choice when breeding. The health of any future kittens should always come first
