I have a stunning bengal queen and hope to breed. Mogwai (Bella on paper) came with full pedigree papers. I even met her parents who are also magnificent bengal cats. The person who sold me Bella now tells me that she is not registered and that i won't be able to mate her with a registered breeder. I am now at my wits end as I beleived that the pedigree papers were enough evidence that she is 100% bengal??? Please help me I love her so much and am sure that she would make a fantastic mother, we just need a fantastic father lined up, Bella is 13 months and has had 4 very strong heats.

Her pedigree papers are enough to prove she is 100% bengal the problem comes if she is on the active or non active register in regards to breeding from her. If you breed and she is on the non active register you will not be able to get pedigree papers for the offspring therefore unable to prove they are 100% bengal

Ok a couple of questions, did you buy her from the breeder under the understanding she would be a breeding queen and did you pay extra for her to breed from?

If you truly love her, neuter her ASAP.
There are enough unregistered kittens out there already looking for homes.
If you want to be a breeder and justify breeding cats, then you need to be producing good quality kittens, not adding to the rescue problem.
DO not become a member of the "one litter" club.

YOU obviously know nothing about breeding Bengals and it will take you a few years to learn, IF that is what you want to do. Breeding Bengals is not a cheap hobby.
If Mogwai is indeed registered, show her at cat shows as a neuter and familiarise yourself with the show circuit, meet breeders and suss out what a really good Bengal is.
Learn about genetics, the health of the Bengal, how to care for breeding animals, and how to care for newborn kittens.
Breeding a girl without such knowledge is asking for trouble, cats and kittens die every day with people thinking the cat knows what it is doing or it will all turn out fine.
Bengals are difficult animals to breed, it is not easy, vet bills can be very high.
Find out the type of Bengal you wish to breed.
With all that on board, then go looking for a breeding female that shows some of the traits you want to develop and improve on. Find a good breeder and they will let you use one of their own studs.
Public studs do not tend to be of very high quality.
Get your girl tested for PK defic and HCM before you breed her and make sure you are aware of what genetic problems are her lines, make sure the stud is tested for PK defic and HCM too.

Whoever this is insulting my intelligence can back off!! I am a veterinary nurse & quite aware of your bluntly made points! My mother bred Burmese so yes am very familiar with the whole breeding process. I will now get in touch with the bengal cat club as they might not be quite so insulting!!!

We own a beautiful Bengal cat and most certainly intend to appreciate & maintain their unique gene pool.
