When I mentioned keeping one of her kittens, I did say from the last litter - meaning right before she is desexed. No buddy for her until that time, and then a daughter to keep as a playmate when she retires. I understand that another cat would be a bad idea - I get it. I wasn't suggesting otherwise.

To all - bettel's last post is exactly what I have been saying through this. I've had the criticism, and yes I'm a terrible person. If it helps you guys to sleep better at night, I'll wear it. Now, helpful suggestions to make this as easy as possible for my cat and my family would be absolutely appreciated. Good/bad/otherwise. I appreciate the suggestions that have been made, and I appreciate the reasons given as to why those may or may not be a good idea. At least suggestions and ideas are being put forward. For that, I am grateful. Instead of the alarmist OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE YOU DONE THIS IS TERRIBLE AND THE WHOLE WORLD WILL IMPLODE AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT I HOPE YOU FEEL GUILTY AND DIE IN A FIRE, a more helpful way would be "you could expect these behaviours, and here is how I manage it in my girls"

People have successfully kept breeding girls at some point in history. It's a big assumption to decide that I am incapable, particularly in light of how much you all know about me.

she will be tested for HCM, PRA, PKD, PK Def, FiV, FeLV. She will not be bred if there are any signs of giardia of the likes, and will be tested and treated accordingly (I believe TF falls under this category) before reassessment for breeding.

I am sorry, people, normally the way you critic other should be "if you close one door, you need to open another". It is not quite kind just to say "You are wrong", there is no benefit for anybody in this. It is much nicer to help to find ways out.

If somebody falls in a deep hole you don't just stay on the edge and don't just say to whoever fell there that it was all his fault and s/he should have been more attentive and should have behaved differently. You normally help people to get out.

Somebody mentioned here that this type of posts will be good for other users who look for information. No, it will not. People will be afraid to ask questions because they will think that the same will happen to them: rather than they receive an advice they are just blamed. And who will suffer? Cats!

If you really feel pain for animals, educate people, help them with an advice. Don't punish them.

If you don't care about cats, then maybe it is just necessary to declare this: we don't care about the final result we are just looking for whose fault this is.

I am a new Bengal owner and I would appreciate other people experience. But this is not experience, this is almost bulling!

Everybody makes mistakes, sometimes people just need help to get though them.
