I trust bettel as the person demonstrating the highest level of humanity, not the greatest degree of knowledge of the breed. I disseminate information from many sources to come up with the best possible solution. My issue is not with bettel being right or wrong. The misinformation can be corrected without the constant badgering of OMG somebody was wrong on the Internet, we must start a flame war.

I haven't requested that you remove yourself from this thread. I've simply asked people to try a little kindness. We could all do with more of that. I'm aware that I've not held back on a certain member of this forum, and in explanation I'll add that while I'm all for kindness, I'm also keen on calling out bullying behaviour where it is seen, and he is a classic case.

Relocating a pregnant queen for her litters is added stress, not recommended and not in the cat's best interest whatsoever.

The arrangement that this breeder has managed to continue for her so-called breeding program only benefits her, her space in her home, her food budget and perhaps a couple of customers that think they are just getting a cheap Bengal.
Get out of this arrangement if possible is my advice.. you and family will bond with and enjoy another neutered/spayed (full price) kitten enormously if you do give current kitten back and get another one as a pet (not a breeding cat). I dont know if you and family (or neighbours) are going to enjoy or be able to manage this queen you will be ''fostering'' (until ownership is transferred).

Breeding cats are not pets in my opinion.. those I have encountered myself (I mostly only meet kitties in need) have been in need of help with extreme behavioural problems and I'll be honest and say I have met intact cats that were beyond behaviourist's help and I or a colleague had to recommend spaying and single cat home as the final solution to help those particular kitties.

You must expect and prepare for anything with your current kitten you are fostering for this lady.
Including infections or complications from breeding that can include death.

I join you in hopes for only the best but must reiterate .. prepare yourself for this not turning out well.

As for ways to reduce this queen's stress when being relocated - see your ''breeder''
And regarding any extra care/costs inc nutrition or coping with stressful calling - see your ''breeder''
With respect to any complications that can arise and the steps that can be taken to mitigate risks to breeding cats - see your ''breeder''

I could list another dozen things that you will need to ''see your breeder'' for regarding caring for her queen but I dont want to be labelled condescending.

Good luck with this and please put the animal's welfare first in all considerations going forwards.

So you signed a contract that means you need to give this breeder $20000-$30000 if you decide to opt out?
I would guess quite a few of this breeder's "cat families" would want to renege on the contract before the fourth litter, so that is indeed a nice little earner for any breeder.
Very, very, very few Bengals would be worth that sort of money.
Why would anyone who was concerned about your mental health advise you to get into a breeding contract that was so difficult to extricate yourself from?

All you needed to do was buy a breeding quality kitten if your intention was to breed. HCM scans and a few health tests hardly cost that amount of dollars.
If all you needed was a "replacement" for Linden in a hurry then the local shelter would have probably sourced a brown spotted tabby kitten for you. I doubt a 5 year old would have known the difference between a Bengal and a DSH if it was the right colour and had spots, Many lay people on here would even struggle to tell the difference.

Personally, if I were you, I would ask your support team, ie GP, psychologist and even your legal team to put pressure on this breeder to allow you to keep Kira but free you from this contract. You do not sound in a good way mentally to cope with all of this. Fast forward 10-14 mths, the breeder wants to breed her, but you NEED Kira in your life, how are you going to cope with her being away for months? If you challenge the breeder then, your case may not be so strong, whereas at the moment I am sure the breeder could be "leant upon" by your support team who would give details of your present stressful life as mitigating circumstances and be able to remove you from this contract, with as little hassle as possible.
