I have a question for you experienced breeders out there....

Flick (8 months) came into season a few days ago. As you may have seen on previous posts I was deliberating whether or not to breed her.... well I've decided to have her speyed, which is good news as she is a most excellent pet. The operation booked for the 20th of this month, so a wee while to wait.

Today she has had a bout of extremely nasty smelling diarrhoea, and I wonder if this is normal, or should I be concerned? (I'm keeping her litter box extremely clean.)

If it is particularly foul smelling, you may want to get tested for Tritrichomonas Foetus (TF). Take a 3 day pooled poop sample (refrigerating in between sampling) to your vet.

Thanks Lisa, it seemed to pass by thankfully.

Hopefully good news then - but please be aware that one sign of TF is INTERMITTENT diarrhoea so it can come and go. If you have any doubts, get a sample tested.
