I'm posting some updates! The kittens are 4 days old and doing well. I weighed them at day 7 and they were 120-140g (up from 60-70 at birth). No eyes are open yet, but only 5 have lost their umbilical cords. Momma is looking thin. She eats quite a bit but I wish it were more :(. It's crazy how the all have such distinct personalities at such a young age. My boys are crybabies...

The last pic is funny - the white snow is crying and the spotted littermate at the side has one paw over his eyes/head as if to say "for god's sake can you just shut up!!"

They are all beautiful an have very distinct markings but that first kitten he/she is going to be a knockout!!!!

I am so jealous. The little white one with the tongue out is by far my favourite! They're all gorgeous but the little tongue is so adorable!

I saw the little guy(?) covering his eyes and thought oooh my girl has always done that, its so cute.
A closer look revealed its his(?) sleeping buddy's leg that is covering his(?) eyes ..not his own... even cuter
(ps. a top coat of clear varnish will stop that chipping .. dont ask how I know that) lmao

Thanks! I actually had little ribbon "collars" made that have Velcro stitched in and am just waiting for their little eyes to open to put those on them!

They look like a nice colour / pattern litter so far! With the weighing, you need to weigh the same time everyday not week, its the quickest sign to see if mum had milk or if something is wrong, around 7-10grams per day is 'average' but if its 5 one day it could be 15 the next so don't panic if its low one day and rush to feed!

Offer mum whatever she wants, mine crave felix good as it looks, so they get that! Amongst their other stuff!

Well all the babies eyes are open and they're doing well. I have one concern. Ellie's top 2 nipples have dried up and now one kitten is about 10g behind the others. She slso had some raspy breathing. Like there is something in her lungs. She is find otherwise. No sneezing, unusual crying, discharge,etc. I took them to the vet and she checked her for an abnormal palate and found nothing there. She didn't check her lungs or anything. So what should I do?

The vet out her on .2 mL of Clavamox twice a day for 7 days. She believes she aspirated milk somehow. As of today she only gained 5g, everybody else gained enough that she is a little under 20g behind the next smallest one. She is taking a bottle 4 times a day but she won't suckle it for long, so I try many times before I must leave the house. Any advice on how to get her to suckle? She still does get some of mom's milk, but she is the first one kicked off any nipple she gets :(

I always have little ones that lose out at the milk bar and I find they do not like to be supplemented very much. I tend to top up the bigger ones and make sure the little one is on the milk bar.

Mine never latch on to the bottle and I've tried many different ones. What they seem to prefer is the Mikki mothering kit: http://www.vetuk.co.uk/dog-supplements- ... kit-p-2559

I attach the teats to normal syringes, I bought oral ones from Tesco pharmacy (5ml). I never squeeze much into their mouth just a tiny drop at a time until they realise what it is and then they suck themselves and have enough suck to pull the plunger down without me pushing on it. Far easier than a bottle as you can easily tell how much they have taken and the teats are more the same size/shape as mom's.

Has the breeder given you any assistance?
