I wasn't sure where to post this, but I figured the breeders topic would have the most knowledgeable people on the subject, so I thought I'd ask here first.

In October of 2010 I purchased two SBT bengals (and I now FINALLY have their paperwork from the breeder to send into TICA - yes, it really did take that long!). The girls look and act precisely as I would expect bengals to act based on the bengals I've had before, and have lovely markings (yay for rosettes! :) ), but I recently noticed that the paw pads on the F6 have started turning from their original black to a pink/white-ish color, which has me a little concerned, both because I'm not sure WHY it's happening (is my kitty sick????) and because I was always under the impression that a purebreed bengal should have black paw pads.

I won't love Tatiana any less if I discover she's not a purebred bengal, but if she's NOT a purebred bengal as the breeder claimed, I'll definitely be asking for a refund of at least some of the purchase price.

Can anyone give me any information as to whether or not it's possible to have a purebred bengal WITHOUT all black paw pads?

Quasar had totally black paw pads on all 4 feet when we got him at 13 weeks of age.
At about 11 months, I noticed that the pads had turned almost entirely pink. There are a couple of tiny specks of black.
Quasar is a registered, purebred Bengal. I viewed both his parents along with a brother and 2 half-sisters when I picked him up last July.
He has beautiful, black eyeliner, which persists but, he had black lips which are now about half pink. I have no doubt that he is 100% bengal but have also wondered how this change came about.
It makes no difference to us, ultimately, as he is only a pet and we have no intention of showing him.
I have wondered about this, also, however.
I'm interested to see what others on the forum may have to say.

Are they silver? My QGCH female's pads turned bubble-gum pink when she was quite young, it is not a fault with TICA. I have heard this happen to other breeders silvers and silver-snows. There is nothing to worry about and it does not mean they are not purebred Bengals. In fact it is more likely to mean they are purebred. Some people think it is a trait inherited from the Asian Leopard which also have pink paw pads. I cant see your photos though not sure why?

My Quasar is not silver but his parents both have plenty of silvers in their pedigrees.
