Well I want to breex Bengal cats & Savannah cats , but I'm going to be a small breeder because I'm trying to make a dog AKC Recognized, can you guys help me out which cat breed to start off first with and is it even possible? Because by the time that happens I'm going to be older like out of college and start a family and etc . So please help me out ; D

Becoming a responsible breeder requires tons of research, funding, and time... hopefully with a goal in mind to improve the overall breed (whichever one you choose) as opposed to simply throwing out litters to make a quick profit.

Tread carefully. Take your time. Find a mentor. Research and develop a goal. Have enough funds to cover health testing and medical care.

Breeding is not for everyone and when done poorly, the animals are the ones who suffer... not to forget the guardians who care for them.

Hey Elaine, I just made my choice okay. I want to become a Bengal cat breeder and have been doing research on the cat for atleast 3 years already. But I'm also going to buy a serval to reproduce with my bengal females but I mainly going to breed Bengal cats . and sometimes I might have F1 Savannah cats. I think that's a better choice than breeding a lot of cats rotfl... I'm just going to be focused on one kind of breed .

I'm actually a boy, lol, and of course I know wild animals aren't pets but ancient egyptians and other NATIVE african tribes domesticated the African servals lol.

I did not come to this website to argue on what breed I want , I'm asking for help not lectures about what I can't do. & why would I want to do that, Elaine I knew that already, but you can still breed bengals to servals because tica still accepts them as TICA REGISTERED F1 CATS...

The only reason I would ever see the point of breeding a serval with a Bengal is to MAYBE get a clear pelt like coat in a savannah but then that is not what the savannah breed calls for! If you are looking for rosettes, then again that's not what the breed calls for! Not only will it take away from the breed standard but you will add different traits to the bloodline that are not accepted! Like marble! Is a marble savannah a recognized pattern in the breed? ( I am really just asking as I don't know) but there is a breeder doing this and they are producing more and more marbles with each litter that are F2 and F3! To me a marble pattern is Bengal or even more DSH! That's not what I would look for in a savannah! If you notice the marble savannah, EG at that, are only selling as PETS and run about $1000 where as an EG spotted savannah run a minimum of $2500! There is a reason for that! I am not trying to lecture you, I just want to guide you in the right direction!
