I know the money isn't THE issue ... but what about helping out an older Bengal in need of a new home? I've heard there are a few in rescue centres around the UK and I am sure your existing experience with the breed would advance you on the list (if there is one). Also, retired breeding females are usually available from many breeders so this could be another way to go?

When it does come to price we just cannot budge - with the health tests and early neutering on top of all the usual expenses we just can't go cheaper than £450 a kitten. But I would urge you to buy from a screening breeder, they (we!) really need the support of the buyers else more of us will have to cut this cost ... there are already breeders who have stopped screening because they have to drop kitten prices to compete with those who have no interest in the future and welfare of our breed. Kittens from screened and successful lines are usually the exact same price as those that aren't, so please do try and support those who are supporting the breed.

And that's not a sales pitch - we only have 2 young boys atm! lol

I have thought about re-homing an older cat. Although, we really would like to own a Bengal from a kitten. Simba is very intelligent and we have taught him lots of tricks and he knew some tricks when we got him so it would be really exciting to see how much we could teach a kitten. We have some great 'action' shots of Simba with his Da Bird and he goes crazy for the laser pen!

The main reason we want a young Bengal is because of how dominant Simba can be. We were so lucky that him and Tigs got on so well. He definately needs a friend, but one who know will accept that he is the boss, that is why we are thinking of a girl.

I was told by the breeders that boys tend to be easier in terms of who is the boss. Kalinda loves my hubby slightly more and when I was away - i came to find she has gotten used to me being away and has ruled the roost and was defending our bed from me and Nina. It took a week or so to get back to normal and me asserting myself. Even now if she sees Nina having a nice cuddle with my hubby she reacts

Yeah I definitely find boys to be more easy going and sociable. The females are more temperamental, dominant and territorial but this could be my experience as mine are queens. Although my spayed moggy Mimi hated other cats male or female.
