I am considering buying another kitten whose mother was bred with her father. Her mother (my kitten's grandmother) is not a relation. Both the queen and the sire (her father) are stunning cats, really incredible rosettes. So does my kitten. The breeder comes across as a very knowledgeable caring breeder.

Will these kittens who are a product of this line breeding have health issues?

It's not really possible to for sure say yes or no. That said, I'm not crazy about line breeding that early in the pedigree (it's often impossible to find a non-inbred kitten further back).

So a daughter to father mating? = Not for me sorry There is no need to do such a close breeding and quite frankly that is in no way a 'line' breeding its an inbreeding and a completely unnecessary one.

I would not purchase a kitten from a mating like this. Too risky really. There is no need to and i would question buying from a breeder that would do this to be honest.

You can see these matings back when the breed (and in all breeds) are starting up, but I dont think there is a need for it now? Maybe you could ask her why she decided to do this mating?
