I Just wanted to show these pictures, the kittens were neutered yesterday, were already playing about a hour after they woke up and went mad when they got home jumping all over me and playing for ages and eating lol! didnt affect them what so ever!

The bengal first picture, this is how it looks now, infact I actually couldnt find the scar I had to run my hand over it!! This is only 18hours after the op!! then just updated 8 days after gone!

What age do you do it at?

I have found a local vet that will early neuter. They are Companion Care inside a Pets at Home.. going to pop in and ask a few more questions but do you think they would be ones to avoid at all???

I choose to do mine at 10 to 10 half weeks Ive not heard of them, I was reffered to the vets I use, where abouts are you maybe I can ask a breeder if they they know someone near you?

I live in Ibstock, Leicestershire.

My local vets will not, they are in Coalville.
There is a vets inn Ashby de la Zouch but they are not open many hours in the day so bit afraid to use them for surgeries if i can't get to them.

This one is in Lecester, so a 20minute car ride away.

oh 20 mins is brill, I use one 20mins for the neutering, but I use my local vet for injections/normal vet visits (wont EN-but wont give me a reason why ) as its about 1min away, more expensive but its the travel time, if someone is ill (god forbid) you need a vet asap, but if anything did happen to a neuter kitten Id take it to the other vet, as I wouldnt travel 20mins again Id want to see a vet asap thats closer, so you could do that? Ill ask on the other boards!

My closest vet is 1 minute away, that is the one that won't early neuter! So we are in the same position.

I'll check the other vets to see but it's an old vets so i'm willing to bed they won't.

always worth a ask, plus Id ask to speak to the vet as alot of receptionists are trained just to say 'no'
when I waws reffered I called and askedf and was told 'no earliest 6months' I said ' I was reffered to (name of vet) by name of lady lol and that he will do it, they called me back 2 mins later saying very happy to do it, they know all know me every single person in the vet haha All I have to say is 'I had some kittens neutered' anmd there like 'awww yeah! its you!' lol which I find really nice, the other vets arent like that, they come and go in days so you never make a relationship. anyway im babbling now lol I just asked on the other boards!

Great post! I really wish every breeder did early spay/neuter before letting their kitties go home. Would save everyone a lot of trouble!

hi, I asked my vet do do my kittens at 12 weeks, but he wouldnt even consider it until the kitten were 4 months old, I did withold all the pedigree/TICA registrations until I had received proof from the buyers though, so I know they were 'done'

One of those is actually quite close so i will ring them tomorrow.

I asked my vets on monday got the standard response but mentioned why i wanted it early and could they ask each vet there as one of them might have a different view. I got an answer phone message that basically detailed why they don't stating a lot of stuff about the anaesthetic and dangers to young kittens. Most important to them was that they are at a greater risk of hypothermia from the anaesthetic as it naturally lowers their body temperature down so they would be concerned about a younger kitten. They said that they know that rescue centers may neuter early but that is due to money and space. She went on to say that maybe i should have it in my contract that the new owner should neuter at 6 months as that would make them do it

Yeah right!! If i thought every pet owner would neuter them appropriately i would not be seeking early neutering!!!!

thats rubbish, you sure you spoke to a vet! lol! my vets been EN for 30years, he said he has only had 1 kitten die, and after they found out that it had lung & heart problems and he wouldnt have survied until he was a few weeks older (was a ferel kitten)

IVe only had a problem with one person who didnt want to neuter, court situation, and they had it done and sold her soon after, I have then had 2 people ask if they could breed them, 1 was a boy 1 was a girl, when they were 5 months old, obviously I said no you bought them as pets with no interest of breeding and explained things to them and then they neutered.

Id rather just do things properly, but like my vet said good breeders, we arent trying to stop, people letting their cats outside to breed loads of times a year and people breeding for money we want to stop, but how? If they dont bother neutering
Can anyone honestly see those type of people adding a extra £50 per kitten then £10 per chip per kitten, to eat into their profit?? they 'get rid' of them 5-7weeks too early anyway as soon as they try a bit of food I very much doubt they care! just need people to stop flippin buying from them

It was a vet. It was a message left on the answer phone from a vet in the practice. She told me her name and i checked that she is a vet, i think it was the same one that did the SNAP test for me on monday.

I don't think there is a huge risk that my tonkinese pet owners won't neuter. The breed isn't really as popular as bengals are. However it is peace of mind for me knowing that they will not be left un-neutered. It also means that they go to their new homes fully prepared and will not need to go through anything stressfull early on.
