Siddhartha has always been very guarding of food that he really enjoys. When the kittens were on bland diet, he would growl and carry away his pieces of chicken to eat in peace. Last night, my OH and I were eating dinner and a green bean fell onto the floor. Immediately, Siddhartha grabbed it and carried it away. When Raja came up to investigate, he growled and then wolfed it down. I had no idea that cats would eat veggies.

Our Tonky boy, Ko, will pinch french fries off your plate if you are not looking! Sugsie our bengal girl like to swipe a piece of fish and big Lou, anything thats meaty!!

Ko, the Tonk, when he was a tiny bundle of fluff, sneeked into the utility room where I had a large leg of lamb cooling, picked it up and came trotting out as pleased as punch with his "kill". The leg of lamb was twice the size of him.

Poppy (moggy, not Bengal) took a piece of lettuce off my plate yesterday. I though she was just going to play with it because it was curly but she sat and ate the whole thing

My cats are always begging for people food and scraps are few and far between (they do get chicken treats that I buy just for them but anything coming between me and my food pretty much elicits the crouch-over-it-and-growl response ) so they'll take what they can get. When they circle me like sharks while I'm cooking sometimes I'll put a bit of what I'm making down at their level so they can see it's not that interesting at all. But they're ridiculous, they'll lick/chew on things like teabags, carrots and broccoli with a pitiful whine, as if asking "why are you making me eat this disgusting stuff?" They just can't make themselves walk away!

Although it is pretty cute when they pounce on their raw chicken and carry their strips away growling, I really miss their baby "nom-nom-nom" noises.

Aww, this thread makes me sad My Sammie won't touch anything except her dried kitty food. I've tried all kinds of meat, tuna, cheese, anything... and she won't touch it. I wish she'd eat something else once in awhile... so I can give her a treat!

When I first got Sonny (DSH Tabby) I thought it was so strange that a cat would beg for food. But Brahm is insane when it comes to people food. He will circle me like a shark (just like swirlypepper said). He is especially fond of bread and tuna

ollie is a bit fussy with food that isnt "cat food" she wont even have the logic tooth gel that i use for goblin, but she goes absolutely MAD for the smell of chinese food....
she adores it

max and freya always try it on when i am in the kitchen though i try and put a little down unless its cheese or chicken oh and pastrami (!) they just sniff and walk away. I wanted to get them to like healthy stuff!!
I left a cooling cheescake on the side and Max are his round the edge - neatly though lol

Mine beg like dogs when we eat out dinner. The little one tries to climb on our plates. Talon likes red peppers! out of a bowl of meat and veg he would rather eat the peppers!! and he used to love playing with leaves of iceberg lettuce, running around, throwing it and growling, it was really funny to watch.

Sammie's turned into a huge sniffer... no interest in eating what we have, just smelling it! She'll run over with a "I wish to sniff your dinner" look on her face
