Hi everyone,

What a great forum, I hope you don't mind me joining in! I have recently got my first pair of kittens having left home after uni...A lilac point siamese called Horace and a brown spotted bengalese, Tully (Catullus). Apart from his siamesey ears and face, Tully seems to have inherited mainly bengal characteristics on the inside and out with his acrobatics (Horace can't keep up!), cooing and inevitably, the sensitive tummy!

My parents have always had either a pair of siamese or burmese so I have little experience with the lovely bengals- do you have any feeding advice for me that might help with his runny stomach (which has been on and off for the past 3 weeks)? He has been seen twice by the vet and is currently on science plan i/d pouches and a small amount of JWB biscuits always left down. I also feed them once a day on either boiled chicken or cod with a small amount of mushy pumpkin and goats yoghurt mixed in. I am thinking of moving them slowly onto Bozita instead of the i/d as it doesnt seem to be doing the trick and am suspicious of all the extra ingredients/fillers in it, what do you think? I have been pretty consistent with their current diet as didn't want to make matters worse by trying new things! Is there anything else I can do to help his tummy?

Thank-you so much, that is really helpful advice. I have wormed them both tonight and must keep on top of it as think I may have been a little behind (confusing with them both arriving at different times from different breeders) and will try the dry food you mention along with the bozita

As to Tully's poo, I'd call it medium gloopy (oh dear, sorry everyone, you can probably tell ive been paying close attention to their tray)! It's not formed but not completely liquid either and rather smelly

Hello again I would wait & see what happens after the worming treatment for a bit. Do you know what worms the Advocate does? Sorry nosey bat again lol just want to make sure it does a variety that's all I use Milbemax for mine as does them all roundworms, hookworms, tapeworm & heartworm not that we get heartworm in the UK I don't think but prevention is better than cure

If no improvement in a couple of weeks then maybe a stool sample will be needed but fingers crossed the worming works

Hi again all,

Back from a few days away and was welcomed back by some excellent poos!! It must have been the wormer that really helped so thank-you thank-you for the advice about that abooksigun...Fingers crossed the wonder-poos will continue but am going to be VERY careful with their diet in the meantime.

Apparently Tully has been jumping in the bath and paddling about while ive been gone As a novice bengaling all his funny characteristics amaze me!
