So I'm getting two boys in September and will be feeding them the same raw mix that the breeder uses I just have two small questions about it.

1. Chicken hearts can be hard to get on times, is it ok if I buy freeze then thaw to make the food then refreeze? I would have them packaged in the amount needed before freezing them.

2. Egg yolks are called for but not the whites, can I throw the whites in raw or cooked?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your upcoming babies. I do not feed raw, but some on here do. Hopefully, they can chime in. There is also a topic on raw feeding and you can probably Google and find more information. You might want to consider a supplement to add to the raw food so your babies get the taurine they require (which they would get from the heart and liver). Honestly, your breeder is your best source of information on the raw diet. It's great you will get some food to start off with. Know, too, there is prepared raw food you can purchase online or at your pet store. Preparing it yourself is a task and it's best to whip up a large batch. put them in daily portions, freeze and then thaw out as necessary.

As for the eggs, use only what the raw recipe recommends and find a human recipe for the rest.

Hopefully, once you get your babies, you will post photos in the Introduction or Gallery section of the forum.
