I have a Petsmart near me and will have to try their policy as I experiment with other brands.

Oberon will not eat the Natural grain free brands with peas. He keeps digging a hole to China (so I can send the food to the starving cats in China...). It sounds good to me as a human but he has picky tastes.

I just checked the Hills Science Diet Adult Urinary Hair ball food and it does have green peas in it. So does the regular hair ball (non urinary) food. I'm not sure if the peas is causing the issue, but for both of them to have this issue seems like it might not be an allergy.

I'm going to take them to the vet this week and mention TF and ask if we can test for parasites. I'll see if shes willing to treat them for parasites even if the test is negative.

Side note... For wet food, do you have to transition that or can you just put it down and let them have it?

I do hope your vet will NOT treat for something that is not there. If there is no TF or any other parasite, then do not give your cat anything to treat them. Antibiotics are useless if something isn't there to treat and you are wasting your money. If everything is negative, then you really need to go with trying out different foods. If absolutely nothing works (and it will take you months to get through this), then I'd look at having an ultrasound done. They are expensive ($300 to $400 at my vet), but it will show the digestive system and whether things are okay down there. The fact is you have TWO cats with this issue, thus, I do not think it would be genetic in nature unless they are siblings.

I will say it IS very easy to look at wet food -- and see whether it is appetizing enough. The dry food is the issue and keep changing what I want to order next through Chewy. Raiden rarely touches the dry food, so it is more for the other cat who has no digestive issues. But still, I am not all that happy with the ingredients I'm seeing, period. The Wellness Core dry is not going over too well with either cat.

Hi there, I have had the same issue with my rescue FIV bengal. After many trials of all sorts, we now feed him Fromms dry food, Weruva wet food (chicken or turkey no fish) and home made grilled chicken breast, chicken hearts and liver, or turkey simply grilled. His stools stink much less than before, no more blood, and still a little soft but we also get some hard 'sausages'.

I have not tried the Weruva chicken and turkey products. Raiden has been mostly in the fish, which is probably not the best, but he scarfs it down over anything else. I do have some Nutro Chicken and Shrimp that he loves, but I would like to get more chicken in him. My other DSH does not like turkey at all.

It seems to me that fish aggravates the condition. Once, someone in the household mistakenly fed him a can of tuna and it was a super stinky mess in the litter box.
(But again our cat is FIV (he was rescued form the street) so his needs are a little different)

Human tuna is not the same as cat tuna. Human tuna can be packed in oil or water -- the water is okay occasionally, but the oil makes for a slippery colon! We always give our cats the water from the white tuna can and the other tuna they get is cat food. Many kitties cannot tolerate seafood as well as chicken or turkey. Most prescription foods have either chicken or turkey in them. Unfortunately, mine two seem to like salmon and tuna and shrimp, although the new Rx diet is chicken.
