Puck has outsmarted me again and I came home to a previously unopened bag of Salmon PureBites shredded up all over the floor. On the plus side, I guess I know he likes them. On the downside, I certainly wasn't intending for him to eat that much, should I be worried?

Bad Puck! How large was the bag? If it was the smallest one (.49 oz), then it is probably okay! If you purchased the very large size bag (over 11 oz), then he probably ate way too much! These are freeze-dried treats -- using the actual meat -- or in this case, salmon. I doubt Puck will exhibit any health issues -- vomiting might be the only one. If he is okay in 48 hours, then no harm was done. Note, I've purchased these treats for my cats and they would not touch them. All I got was stinky fingers from trying to feed them.

I'm saying this in the hopes that Puck didn't consume any of the packaging, just the treats.

It was the smaller bag, thankfully. He has adored all three flavors we've tried so far. He totally knows how to open the cabinets now, and he's knocking out all the food and things. Moved the treats, may need to get a childlock for my little angel. He didn't seem to have any health issues last night, but I AM worried about the packaging... He chewed through the plastic, but no major chunks were missing. I think mostly ripped holes in it and then ate the rest from there. He stole another bag but I figured out how he's getting into the cabinets and moved everything before he got even more... Bengals!

He had had exactly one treat out of that bag beforehand, the little brat. Scratched up the paint in between the cabinets from trying to get in, too.

I would appreciate the irony of naming a Bengal "Angel".

With my last cat we had picked up some treats that came in a steel tin with a compression seal top. I stick the snacks in there because if she can figure out how to open it without opposable thumbs she deserves them all ( it's quite difficult to remove ). You can also use a cleaned out peanut butter jar or similar ( plastic ) to put them in. Something with either a tight lid or a screw on lid. Not sure if would prevent him from knocking things out of the cupboard, but without a reward for the effort it would only be to spite you for hiding them.

Usually cats will just vomit if they can't hack something they've eaten. Not nice to come home too, granted, but better than keeping something undesirable in and feeling worse.

I keep the bag and container of treats behind a throw pillow on the couch and Raiden is always digging his paw back there to get to them. If the bag is exposed, I will find it with bite marks, but he has never officially been able to get to the treats.
