Has anyone ever seen anything like this in their food?

It was Fromm which was first recommended by my vet and I researched and did not have recalls and I've been using it for over a year.
What worries me is the wet food was mysteriously unavailable everywhere for some time (over a month) and then once it was back in stock, this all of a sudden appears in the chicken and duck flavor. I bought a 12 pack and some of them have small flecks but two of them so far had that black seen above the size of my thumb nail. It has a consistency almost like wet ash. Which is what I was almost curious if it was..

If I poked the dark spots, it just mixed in with the food (like a powder substance)

Tami, I saw your post on the Bengal Facebook page this morning. I don't know what to tell you beyond the comments that were left there. I doubt I would feed the product to my kitty. It might be perfectly safe to use or it might not be, but who wants to take that chance? I know you contacted the manufacturer. They should have been able to explain what it is and how their process may have changed. I'd keep searching for answers. I know you don't want to dump cat food that may be perfectly good, but until you know for sure, I wouldn't be feeding it to any kitty.

Ewwww, yea, I would throw that right into the trash bin, and then avoid that brand like the plague.
