Hello Everyone!
As of yesterday, I have a lovely 4 year old rescue Bengal called Kid.
He was found abandoned (or lost) and starving in a friend's neighbourhood. He has had evidence of less than ideal previous owners at some point (he was fixed as an adult Tomcat, he cowers when one says 'no' etc.), but is a good boy.
One thing though - he has sensitive digestion (he tends to throw up a lot) and seems to have acquired a urinary tract infection (he is taking a course of antibiotics)...
Health history: He has been to the Vet's 3-4 times to get checked for parasites & checked for diseases, to get his boosters up to date etc.
Any advice about what is the ideal nutrition balance for a Bengal?
I am currently feeding him NOW adult food (high protein, no corn products), with human grade tune/sardines in morning and evening.
Do Bengals do better on a high-quality food with slightly lower protein (with non-protein being good veg fibres, no corn filler)? Or do they prefer the highest protein possible?
Under the care of his rescuers, he has blossomed. His weights and strength has returned (he was skin and bones before), and his coat re-emerged.
Let me know if any of you have pearls of wisdom for my new life-companion.
Thank you!
