I have a cat that requires prescription diet and three that don't. My vet says the Rx food is safe to feed all the cats. I'd like to feed the different foods though because the Rx is super duper expensive. I think i pay $60 for 20 lbs (royal canin rx).

My cats eat the dry diet only and have food available all day. They share the same bowl as well.

Any advice or successful methods and stories are appreciated.

Dry food is not the best thing for cats to be eating, and I am not at all sure that all your cats (if any!) should be on a prescription diet.

You either have to go to set meal times when you're there and can keep them seperate, or keep your cats seperate all day.

When I was in this situation, I tried things like feeding Ella very high (she's the better jumper), but that only stopped Oscar getting her food, not her going and eating his.

I would leave the RX down all the time and take your other cats and fed them separately in another room two or three times a day.
If they are full then they will not eat much of the RX and the RX is available 24/7 for the cat that needs it.
