Hi everyone! Need some help again,

So I had my 2 boys to the vets for just a general nosy and chat on sat, and went to buy their usual kitten bisciuts( james wellbeloved) however the vet told me that I wouldnt need to buy the kitten pack anymore, and that they should be eating the adult stuff.
They are nearly 9months now.
So I asked about their wet food (encore/alpaws) as well and she told me that I should try to wean them off wet as it is bad for them and just stick with a good quality dry! (confused)

She also told me that if I really wanted to continue with the wet food that it should only be 2 meals a day, morning and night. I tried this for 2 days but they are screaming at me at lunch time and at night for more?
Is this enough? The tins are only 70g which means they are only getting 140g a day wet and free feed of the biscuits?

I know many will say feed raw - but I don't.

I put down biscuits during the day to graze on and then they have two meals of wet - once for breakfast and once for dinner.

They have applaws chicken or Hilife fish - wet is not bad for them, infact its good as they get moisture from it - best to have a balanced diet imo.

Thanks claire, so you think they are ok to be having adult bisciuts?
How big is the highlife tins and is it the smaller or bigger tins of applaws you use?

Yeah I would say fine for adult biscuits now and I usually allow 35g of chicken applaws per cat per meal (so a 70g tin per day - but I buy the big tins as abit cheaper that way)

The Hi-life fish I use is a 170g tin which I literally give a desert spoon per cat, or there's the hilife fish pots I usually give 2 between 3 cats.
Or Hi-life chicken junior is good - that comes in pouches - again half a pouch per meal per cat.

Merlin (13+ yrs) has a sachet or tin twice a day of Applaws / Encore / Gourmet Perle et al, which range from 70g to 85g. With this he has free feed access to Royal Canin Dental (sensitive dental and urinary health) biscuits. I tried the Applaws biscuits but he hates them!

He weighs in at @ 5.6 - 6kg depending on his activity level and time of year (heavy bum in winter!) The vet is very happy with his overall condition, and he doesn't have 'droopy belly syndrome' any more, which he had when I got him at almost 9 yrs and 6.5 kg!

Dont pay attention to the 'wet food is bad for your cat', its not correct.

I feed my two between 100-150grams once in the morning and again in the evening.
if they've been very good I might give them a few dry biscuits - I use Orijen fish or if they have been really really good (like let me put the feather toys away without jumping for them and attacking me ) they share a 100gram pack of the Lily's Kitchen food.
