Our 7 month old male bengal Miles, is a VERY picky eater! He decided one day that EVO chicken/duck wet food and anything else remotely fowl/beef related was completely inedible. Meanwhile he has no bias against his sister Timberhaazy's [our lovely 4 yo garden variety tortie who we call "the Good Cat" .' ) ] Innova cat/kitten dry food except it doesn't agree with his bowels and gives him the runs... Our vet says no fish based wet food because of concerns about heavy metal content, etc. Any ideas on a palatable canned food with beef/fowl base that would entice a finicky eater? We're all scratching out heads here and hoping not to have to throw away another can of untouched food!!![/img]

Here's another possibility: Mine just had a can of Nature's Variety Instinct 95% Rabbit & Liver for dinner. They loved it and there's barely any leftovers. If he's tired of poultry and beef, rabbit might actually be something to try. Mine really seem to like the 95% meat canned foods, especially rabbit and duck, with the possible exception of the beef and venison (not too thrilled about those). They definitely prefer Nature's Variety Instinct over the Evo 95% meat cans though. They have six flavors, all without fish: rabbit, beef, venison, duck, lamb and chicken.

Or if money is an issue, you could give Natural Life cat food a try. It's the premium cat food brand sold at Walmarts and half the price of some of the others. I can't see anything wrong with the ingredients though. (However, pretty much everything else sold at Walmart is just junk food for cats.) One of the flavors is lamaderm lamb which is a favorite with one of my cats.

I have had great sucess feeding my pair 'Orijen' dry food its a complete diet..totally recommend it as a few breeders on here use it.

Thanks for all the fantastic suggestions! We finally had a breakthrough: True to our vet's word at about 8 mos Miles stopped having chronic diarrhea ! Then coincidentally Miles and Timber's favorite pet store started carrying Orijen. Problem seems to be solved. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and they both like eating Orijen.

We use a variety of foods in our cattery. Certain cats needs slightly different feeding regimes.

The majority of the adults have Natures Menu wet twice daily, just a half sachet per meal as it is very rich but it is high in meat 70% no additives, colourants, grains. For their dry they have Orijen which is, again, high meat content and no grains.

We have two that have a sensitivity to chicken and such like so they get a mixture of Eagle Pack Holistic Duck and Oatmeal with Royal Canin Prescription Sensitive.

Of our house pets, Big Lou, is sensitive to chicken and we give our house cats a mixture of Royal Canin Prescription GI32, Iams Hairball and James Wellbeloved Lamb and Rice

Our kittens have Whiskas Kitten in Jelly for their wet and Royal Canin Kitten for their dry. I like kittens to carry on with this regime when they leave us until at least 6 months+ (depending on growth), then ask they be changed over to Natures Menu and Orijen.
