Silver bengals?

Looking up info on bengal colours, sites only refer to brown or snow. What about silver ones? Are they not classed as pure bengals or is there no such thing as a silver bengal?

Hi.
Silvers are recognised though there are fewer of them than Browns, and they are a newer 'colour' than others so are still slightly more unusual to come across.
Having said that, we have silvers on our website and if you look around I am quite sure you will find plenty of silvers these days!

If you looked on a GCCF site however, I believe they are still trying to progress the 'colour' (silver is actually a Brown with the colour removed, rather than being a silver 'colour') and that is likely to take some time.......

Silvers have been recognised with TICA (and can be shown at Championship level) for quite some time now as 'purebred' Bengals.

We breed silvers but our queen and our bank account is resting for a few months!! :lol:

Our boys are pure bred silver spotted Bengals and registered as pets with the TICA. However as they are browns with the colour removed they do have some golden patches on them which have emerged as they have grown.

I think it's safe for me to post some pictures later of the little silver boy I'll be giving a home to in a few weeks time. I didn't want to call him silver and then have the forum mafia chew me up for mentioning an unrecognised colour!

I can't say I have noticed any Forum Mafia here. I actually love this forum and how friendly everyone is not to mention there are a lot of my fellow English here!!

If you look up on my posts for my Sakura you will see I do have an unrecognised color, Saki is a Cinnamon Marble Bengal. If I wanted to go out there and deliberately buy a Cinnamon Marble I don't think I could, I have never come across any. But rescue brought me my delightful girl and no one here has been anything but complimentary about her. Of course that might be the influence of the CIA - Cats Intelligence Agency.

Nor have I ever noticed anyone here looking down on my cats because they don't have papers, most rescue cats do not. It is kind of a shame we can't do what we can do for dogs and send a photo in and get an affiliated registration, that would at least work for recognised colors.

I am hoping through rescue to get my fill of other colors although most in this area seem to be brown spotted.
