New to Bengal cats - advice please

Good morning all,

I've been spending the last few weeks reading as about the Bengal breed and decided to take the plunge. I'm going to visit a breeder this morning to look at a male Bengal kitten.

This is his pedigree:

He's £450 which seems reasonable. However, I don't really know much about the pedigree or even how to tell anything from it!

Grateful for any advice

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm no expert but he looks lovely to me, nice markings. If you're planning to show him, then get some advice about his shape and markings but if you just want him as a pet, then the most important thing is how you feel about him when you see him. I'm sure you'll fall in love :lol:

I went to see him this afternoon and he's just lovely. His brother was really shy (and already reserved!) but the one in the picture was really outgoing and curious.

I took a picture of him with his brother while I was there. He's the one holding on to my finger and his brother is the darker one in the background:

I loved him so much I put the deposit down on him straight away. The breeder was very nice and friendly and this was her first litter. Spent just under an hour there talking and playing with him. He's "6th generation", I'm guessing that has affects the price but I don't really know if its good or bad!

Now the long wait until about the 6th Feb till I can take him home :cry:

Aww, see how he chose you

It's so exciting looking forward to a new arrival. Wand toys (like Da Bird) and cardboard boxes are favourite toys if you're looking for things to get for him. To begin with, get the same food and litter that the breeder is using and change them over slowly later if you want to.
