Most of the reputable breeders will have information on their websites to help you. If you don't want a kitten that is reared outdoors, look for those websites that state 'home bred & reared kittens'. Read the information that breeders have on their websites and you should at least be able to eliminate those that don't have your requirements, like the cage-rearing etc.
Make sure your new kitten isn't being offered for homing before the age of 12 weeks
, and has had a full course of vaccinations. You could also ask to see the parents and their registration papers, to ensure that they are indeed 'breeding' cats and not cats that were originally sold as PETS ONLY (i.e. 'NOT for breeding') and may have Contracts applied.
These are just very basic guidelines, and it is advisable to do as much research as you possibly can before choosing your new baby.
