I think that's a bit of a generalisation by the breeder. I used to be a bit like you and preferred female cats, ever since I had a male cat who sprayed even after neutering. I've now got one male (Samson) who is the gentlest, friendliest cat you could ever wish to meet. I have had quite a few females over the years and they've covered just about every personality you can think of but the three I've got now are just as sweet and friendly as Samson.

I would advise you not to let gender influence you but to visit the kittens and see which one you bond with - often the right kitten chooses you .

I have always had Male cats and always neutered. Males were always my preference and I really dont know why?? I now have 1 of each and I love them both.. They are different to one another but there is also 9 and a half months difference in age too with my boy being older. He is so loving and lovable, and I was always under the impression (wrongly) Males were more loving than Females. My girl is an absolute love bug and a little darling... Now I believe its down to each individual kitten/cat and what sex they are is irrelevant... Also I am quite surprised a Breeder said that to you.. The 2 different breeders I got mine from both said it varied, sometimes the girls were more loving and sometimes the boys?

Well, I am partial to little boys. Since I have been grown, both my two dogs and 2 cats have all been boys. I never really consciously (I guess that is the correct term) planned it that way, it just happened.

Seriously tho, i don't have a lot of experience but the only 2 females bengals i have had have been bonkers, lol

Anyway back to topic, I have 4 female bengals at the moment one being a kitten & one is neutered & they are all very loving. I would say my neuter is probably more aloof than the other 3 but I just think that is her personality. Males were my preference too, but that was with moggies & now having my Bengals I think they are both just as loving.

It's all down to the individual personalities really, I wouldn't say it's a male v female thing. It also depends on the dynamics of the family, i.e. other cat personalities.

Males are more laid back. Defo.

I have 1 boy & 1 girl and, while there are differences between them they both have lovely personalities...

In the past I would have said girls were more affectionate, but now my boy is more affectionate... On the flip side, he is also the crazier one...

Personally I think they are all lovely... And highly entertaining..
