[img]Hi, so this is a bit of a long back story but 2 years ago I bought a male brown bengal from a local breeder for $1200 then this summer I started looking for a female silver bengal. I was looking at a different breeder a few hours away who had very very nice silver bengals with no tarnish however they were 2200 to 2700. Then when I contacted the local breeder she had told me she had a silver girl bengal for $1800, so I put a deposit down. Two months later on the pick-up day when I got there she told me my kitten had a very bad heart murmur with a very bad prognosis and that she wanted to keep her to see how she did for a little longer. She gave me a choice of a new kitten from a litter that was just 2 weeks old - meaning I had another 10 weeks to wait. I had to make the decision right then and there and she told me there were two silvers to chose from a boy or girl however she said the boy would have a much better coat than the girl- so I decided on that (despite wanting a girl and having bought pink everything alright :P). The other downside was this male was $2500, a lot more than the first kitten. So I now have my kitten and he is 16 weeks old. When I picked him up the breeder assured me the brown in his coat would fade out and he would be silver. Over the past month his coat has only gotten more brown and today at the vet she said she expected him to just get darker. He looks more of a beige grey colour rather than silver. I'll attach some images below. Do you guys think there is any chance he will be a nice silver or will always have the tarnish and sandy colouring? Of course, I love him regardless. It just bothers me that I paid 2500$ for a silver bengal who doesn't even look silver - while I could have gotten a kitten from the very high quality silver breeder for the same price with zero tarnish. Do you think I should request a partial refund for the fact that he isn't silver?
All Opinions Appreciated!!
