I can tell you are soooo in love!!! Wish you would stop thinking about a second kitty before you even have the first one. It will drive you crazy when you should be spending the time just thinking about Nevada. I'm sure once you get him home, your day will consumed dealing with him.

I think so too Sherry, I have just gone through my period and I always end up with wildly fluctuating emotions afterwards :/ My family calls it "mania" because I can go from being incredibly excited to being mad or sad in a very short amount of time.
I am still working on where to put shelves and make some walkways on the walls - not easy when they're concrete walls ;)

Hang in there. Are you not taking some type of medication to help with all your stress and anxiety and other hormonal issues? I am so hoping Nevada will help you deal with them better. {{{HUGS}}}

not really somehow they don't dare yet, since my pain medication and other medication interferes so they can't just prescribe something without having a specialist on it (which they were talking about but they're incredibly slow at doing things here)
I used to hurt myself in times like these, but since my focus has changed to my Nevada (weird how that works) I've been less inclined to do it and I'm working on mechanisms that keep me from it, such as drawing on myself with a red pen.
It's not as bad as it sounds though - it happens once or twice a year, usually when there's a significant change at a bad time. I'm working with a new therapist at the Center for Autism to help me with coping.

I'm usually pretty happy though, but I do think Nevada will be able to brighten my days a lot more - I don't do too well with human interaction for too long and tend to get a bit lonely. So I really believe that he will make a huge difference, even be therapeutic.

Only 11 days and I am super excited!

A bit annoyed though, since my mom has made a promise to take care of a cat the week after Nevada gets here - and somehow she's got me involved in it. I did tell her that I'm not going to be away from him for more than an hour tops, each day that first week. He's in a new place and needs to feel safe - I do think it will make a difference to him if I'm sitting in the same room being calm or walking around a bit. I don't want to leave him alone at such a time. I want to read to him, keep him company and make sure he is as comfortable as possible
Somehow my cousin, whose cat it is, has gotten the impression that I would be taking care of the cat as I live 4 minutes walk from her, in the same neighborhood (despite knowing that I don't leave my home unaccompanied) sometimes people are so weird

I think if your mom made the promise to keep your cousin's cat, then your mom should have total responsibility for handling the situation and leave you out of it, but then again, I don't know your family. I agree your focus needs to be on Nevada and making sure he settles in just fine and leaving him could end up being a little traumatic for him. Obviously, he's had his mommy and siblings to keep him company and suddenly, there is nobody around!

I know Nevada will be therapeutic for you. After all, you have another little individual around that needs your love and attention. You need to put the focus on him and trying to get better. You will now have your own place and living independently. This is a huge new chapter in your life and it can be the best thing for you.

When my elderly cat Madelyn passed away a few years ago, I didn't even want to go home, what was the point? Then I got my kittens and they keep me so busy with daily chores I have to do for them. They demand I keep a tight schedule in place so I do and it really helps me stay in check with my life too. As soon as I got them, I had to go to work during the day and they were fine on their own getting acclimated so if you do have to step out for an hour or so during the day to feed someones cat, it won't be a problem for your kitties. They don't require around the clock interaction.

It's almost like leaving a newborn baby. Most parents do not want to do that. Anxiety issues are horrible and I would hate to see some other kitty causing issues when you are super sensitive to a change in routine.

Glad you changed the image! No idea what on earth happened, but it was a jolt for me! Ha ha ha!!! Well, the harness training can take some time. Eventually, Nevada will realize he can walk with it on! Now it's simply foreign to him. Not sure you will be taking him for outdoor walks, but it never hurts to have them trained to wear a harness. It will be a huge help on the trip! He should wear it and have a leash handy. Just in case he decides to jump out or travel! So happy your dad is going to get him for you.

4 hours until my dad and the little guy gets here. He's very nervous and yowls.
I hope my dad can find a good spot to calm him down.

Apparently he really, really wants to see what's going on outside the carrier and he tries to push his head through at the top.

He's got a lovely face. And he sounds very well behaved. That looks like a Sturdibag carrier(?). I collected my cat in one of those too, and had to lock the opening as she was trying to escape! She was not keen on being confined at all, but was super-relaxed and happy once we got home. Nevada looks like a much more chilled traveller.
