Hello!

We are considering getting a kitten from them, and wondering if anyone else has had experiences with them? They are located in Los Angeles, CA. Is it typical to spend $1500 on a pet-only quality kitten?

Hopefully, someone on here can give you more information about them. Their kittens are gorgeous! And I can't find anything negative about them on the web.

While Im unfamiliar with that particular breeder, these ARE expensive kittens pretty much in every state. Ive yet to find a litter for less than $1000. I purchased my little girl from a large show breeder in NY. Her normal pet price was $1800....I paid $1000. The breeder cut me a bit of a deal for being in law enforcement, and he had several litters at the time needing homes. (I guess kitten purchasing slows down around the time school starts...makes sense....)

Have you searched for any online reviews of the breeder?? I did that before even contacting my breeder. He had lots of glowing reviews, except from one person who simply went on a weird rant about commercial catteries.....

Every breeder is going to have one unpleasant and unhappy owner experience! That's just the way some people are. You can't please them no matter how hard you try or how much you give them. NY breeder prices are a little high, however, if that includes the spay or neuter, shots, testing for every disease, and the cats are high quality bengals, then the price is fair.

Thats EXACTLY what my breeder stated, almost verbatum!

Suri's dad is a Supreme Champion show cat (Supreme something....I dont 100% remember the title) and mama was a Champion. She definitely has good lines! She didnt come spayed, but did have 2 rounds of shots and her wormer, (shot records included) confirmation of testing done on both parents, TICA papers and contract. Im happy with my breeder, and would recommend him to others. :)

Well, you obviously received a show quality cat coming from a SGC and C. Would actually love to know the parents's names to see if they are in the Bengal Pedigree website. I find the pedigrees so interesting with all the Supreme, Quad, Triples, Doubles, International Champions. I'm betting Suri has a lot of them! Raiden's grandfather is RW SGC Gogees Warpaint!

I dont think Suri will quite mature to show quality, (atypical markings) but hey who knows! Shes beautiful no matter what!!

The king's name was Firestorm, the queen Tygra. Im not sure what their full registry names are. I did see lots of picts of both at shows and with their ribbons. There were easily several hundred winning ribbons displayed throughout the cattery building. The breeder apparently does quite well on the show circuit!

Atypical markings in what sense? A bilaterally symmetrically marked Bengal is less desirable than one with unique markings on each side, if that's what you mean.
I think you have a cat with lovely markings.

Suri is surprisingly symmetrical on both sides. An almost perfect mirror image in her markings. I wish I could get a good pict of ALL her markings. They just look....different than what Ive seen in pictures and such. Several large body rosettes, some smaller ones, the 3 back stripes (which I do think will become chains later)...they just arent the 'typical' bengal patterns Ive seen. The ones I always see online (even here!) are LOADED with rosettes and spots. I cant even tell what 'style' of rosettes Suri has! (donut, cloud, pancake, etc)

I think when she matures she may look alot like her daddy. But, who knows. :)

Dont get me wrong, her markings to ME are beautiful. I actually like that they are symmetrical. Im absolutely in loooooove with my little Lap Leopard (who is snuggled up sleeping in my lap this second!) and I think shes PERFECT. <3

There are two "Firestorms" in the Bengal Pedigree website -- one born in 2014 and one in 2013 (others are from 2008 and 2007). There is a Tygra from 2013. What is the name of the cattery you got Suri from? None of the cats I found had any championship in them at all. It's possible with ALL their cats, they aren't putting them in the database and if you get papers, you can do all of that yourself -- it's time consuming, but it has to be done to get a complete pedigree on Suri. Would love to help you discover what F generation Suri is once you get the papers in a few months.

I got my baby from Helderberg Exotic Cats in NY. They do have a webpage that has a few of their best kings and queens on it, but it CLEARLY hasnt been updated in several years. (their FB page hasnt been updated since 2012 either....) Looks like I grabbed the wrong pict of Firestorm off the Helderberg's page...not exactly sure how I did that. I somehow posted a king named "Exotic". Oops. :/

I searched a bengal pedigree database and didnt find a single Helderberg kitty, but I KNOW they have TICA winners. The breeder has soooooo many pictures, ribbons, etc all on display of him and his cats.

Id LOVE to know exactly what F generation Suri is. I did ask, and was told she was a SBT. Outside of that I have no idea how far removed she is from the ALC.

I tried to take some more picts of her to post.....its nearly impossible to photograph a crazy kitten!! Ill edit what I did get and post them though. Im TRYING to show off her markings!

***updated picts in my introduction post!

re: "atypical" markings, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying that she was asymmetrical.

When you register Suri with TICA, spend the money and get a 5-generation pedigree. Even though the parents or grandparents aren't listed in the Bengal Pedigree database, they can be added -- and when you get back 5 generations, you come into the cats who are in the database. The bengal generations stay fairly close to F7 through F9. If we can get back to the F5's, we can probably find them in Suri's pedigree and add the missing ones and get you just about every single cat in her lineage. It is so interesting!!! There are 5 different ALCs in Raiden's pedigree.
