I purchased a kitten from a breeder on Oct. 12. I have inquired twice about the registration papers. She has told me that they were delayed because she had to renew her TICA membership and I should have them from her as soon as she gets them, which should be any day. I don't want to doubt her, but I really am skeptical. The problem is that I was unable to go to meet my kitten before bringing her home. My husband went without me and drove 2 hours to see her. He seems to think it's all legitimate but I wasn't there. I feel that my kitten doesn't have Bengal fur for 1 thing. I have an 11 year old Bengal and he feels nothing like her. The website isn't updated very often, which I guess isn't always necessary. But her queens don't show the mother of my kitten. When I asked, she told me because she hadn't updated the website. I know the kitten page has been updated twice, but the queens have not. When I search the Bengal pedigree website my 11 year old cat comes up but nothing from the breeder of my kitten is on that site. I don't know that I would have gotten her the day we did without more info. She's a great little kitty but I just feel like I was conned in a way.

You can post pictures of her and we can see if she has bengal qualities. Most reputable breeders hold the papers until the kitten is spayed. Did you sign a contract at all? Also where are you located or if you don't mind who is the breeder? Maybe someone here has dealt with them before.

It is Designer Spots in Ramona California. I had her spayed 2 weeks ago. The breeder told me she didn't need proof of spay before getting papers. I asked that before I got her. Going to try and post pictures too. My husband did sign a sales agreement.

I guess to me I think that ship has sailed. I mean you can attempt to push the breeder to the breaking point, and accuse her of different things, but if it got to the point where the breeder conceded and offered a full refund in exchange for your cat back would you consider doing that? If you have any sort of bond with your cat just be happy you got your cat and let it go is my advice. Chalk it up as a learning experience and next time you will know better what questions to ask and to go with your husband to visit the cat if you don't trust his judgement in evaluating her for Bengal-ness and the characteristics that you expect in a cat.

For what it's worth my two bengal's fur feels totally different. Serafina's is silky smooth while Gaga's is rediculously plush. I never did get papers with my bengals (lesson learned there), but with Neytiri I think it was a couple of months after I got her thati received the papers.

Ps looks likes beautiful Bengal to me. Be happy.

I had vertigo and couldn't make the drive. I guess I should have waited a week until I was well. I do think she is a beautiful kitty and I wouldn't trade her in. LOL I have definitely learned from this and if I get papers great. I just don't like feeling took. But she is an awesome kitty. Thanks for letting me know your kitties feel different too.
