To me it just really doesn't make much sense to buy a haphazardly bred, half-breed of a cat from a breeder. Legit breeders just don't do that, and they also don't usually advertise through conventional means. Just those two facts alone would make me disqualify that cat from my search if it were me.
I think the whole point of having a pure-bred cat is to get a good representative of the breed, to be able to experience those breed-specific behaviors and traits, plus get a cat that was meticulously raised, socialized, and selectively bred to other cats with very positive physical and tempermental characteristics (including health). And I think going with an arrangement like you are looking at, you get none of those advantages. If cost is the foremost concern, I think you would be much better off getting a cat from a rescue, because at least then you have an extremely wide variety of cats to choose from and you will be helping out a cat in need. There are even rescues that specialize in bengals, depending on where you live or how far you are willing to travel.
