Hi everyone

Well, I was struggling to come up with 2 names for my kitten brothers I am picking up on Saturday but have finally decided on Rio and Chilli. Rio because I'm an 80s music fan and was singing along to the song in the car and I thought "great - that's one name sorted" but struggled to think of another until we had curry for tea last night!

I'd love to hear what your Bengals are called and how you got their names

What cute names! I named my bengal Lily... It's very unoriginal as I just thought "bengal tiger" then Tiger Lily came to mind and seemed obvious. The flower she is somewhat named after is beautiful as is she, so it fits!

My second choice name for her was Minda (massive Zelda fan) but I figured that'd be more fitting for a black cat!

I agree - Lily is a lovely name and so is Minda!

Joe : The breeder called him Hello Joe (as it rhymes lol)
Poppy : When we picked her up from lincolnshire the fields were full of Poppys
Saff : Short for Saffron - which is what her colouring reminded me of - plus she was expensive lol
Sausage : Named by a kitten customer as a joke & it stuck
Tutti(frutti) : Her litter were all related to rock and roll as her dad is called great balls of fire
Enzo : I wanted a sports car name as he is 'flash' so named after Enzo Ferrari

My two came from several different ideas!!! Of course my children wanted to name my girl Nala from the lion king, but in didn't care to much about that! My husband wanted to name her something related to transformers( the animated show from the 80's now popular movies) because he and I both collect them! Well we finally decided on Sarabi which is from the lion king and my son couldn't say Sarabi and called her BB! Well it kinda fit because my favorite transformer is bumblebee, BB!?! So it stuck! Jasper was really hard to name because he was already two and previously named Ullr. So on our way to get him we stopped in a small town to get gas and I was watching the Twilight movie. One of the characters named Jasper was killed an I started thinking of the name Jasper. I really liked it and it turned out the town we were in was called Jasper! So it had to be it!!! Also the transformers from te animated series were in a town called Jasper! So both have transformer names with a little outside inspiration!!

I know difficult right! You can really tell how my mind works

Quasar is a highly energetic (somewhat) celestial body. Self-explanatory, I think.

Benji was 6yrs old when he came to me from Cats Protection and he was called Mouse which I didn't think suited him at all so I changed it.

Wow! They are all great names and the reasoning behind some of them is sooo interesting. Thanks everyone for that. I'll post piccies and videos Saturday when I've picked them up I'm sure. Ive already got strong boxes and cut flaps and holes out of them for them to play with. Next stop Pets at Home lol

Claire: is that Enzo Furrari?

My cats:
Evie - she came from a breeder in Evesham... It's a pretty name and suits her well. She gets called Pevie often and even answers to 'P' now

Max - when we saw him he had a definite 'M' on his forehead so we looked at names beginning with M. He is actually Maximus which often gets changed to Maxipi$$ due to his desire to wee were he shouldn't

Toby - short for Tobelerone. He was a nice chocolatey brown as a kitten, he is darker now.

Lily - wanted a pretty name that was linked to her colour. She's technically blue.

Pippa - our home bred girl. Her pedigree name is Duchess Kate and we trialled calling her Kate but it didn't suit her. Pippa is the real Duchess Kate's sister so it kind of fits... She gets called Pip Pip a lot.

Calling your cat "Mouse" is like calling a pig "Pork Chop" hahaha

I toyed with the idea of Cepher (C For Cat) but thought that was tooo silly!!

Anyway I am really happy with the names I've chosen - hubby less so!! I told him he was lucky - they could have been called Becks and Clooney ;)

Me and partner are car nuts, so we had a short list, Enzo, Evo, Nismo, Cooper and Cupra for boys and Elise and Shelby if we ended up with girls.
As soon as we saw the kitten we had original said in the photos was the one for us my partner was instantly he's a Nismo - slightly unstable on his feet (he was at the waddling stage when we first met him), runs and his paws slip on the solid floors, like a wheel spinning car (he still does it, its so cute!) and not afraid of anything - Nismo was the perfect name.

The other kitten we were going to try and get had been sold to someone else even though we had said we wanted him so we were able to choose another cat from a different litter and that was Evo. He was so sweet and cute and tiny (nothing at all like an Evo) now it suits him nicely as he zooms around the house with his back end out a lot!

Nismo and Evo are really nice names, too!

Loving hearing about how you chose the names!

Oh, just for a bit of info, our German Shepherd was called Ice, the Boxer was called Taz and the Bulldog was called Boss (but we ended up using British instead) - he would pretty much answer to anything bless him. They are all gone now but NEVER forgotten.

Thanks again

We had reserved a male kitten from our breeder even before he was conceived. When she sent us the fist pictures of him we just knew that his name was Shiro, from the anime Bleach (Toshiro). He was a brown rosetted boy.. Well even before we brought him home we started planning on getting a female after Shiro would be about a year or so old (financial reasons), and planned on getting a snow. We were both in love with the name Yuki (snow in Japanese). When the day finally came to pick up our little Shiro boy, we fell in love with his brown marbled sister and ended up bringing her home too  Even though she isn't a snow, she is very beautiful and the name Yuki just fit her so well. Unfortunately some things went amiss and we had to send Shiro back to the breeder, but we still have our lovely little Miss Yuki, and she is now 8 months old.
