For all the breeders on here.

I'm wondering about the coat colors and such of Bengals, but specifically of the brown spotteds.

I know it's all luck and chance pretty much but in general do pairings of lighter colors result in lighter colored kittens. I'm hoping for a rich golden brown color and bold rosettes. Honestly, I'm not going to be too picky but if I had a kitten of every color option to pick from based solely on color, this would be it. While looking over planned breedings, should I be considering all pairings or is it safe to say two cats with a softer brown coloring will only produce soft colored kittens?

Along with this, how do marbleds work? Is the marble gene recessive? Can a marbled produce a spotted?

I can't answer the question about colour (though you might find it interesting to read about rufousing), but marbling is recessive. Two marbles cannot produce spotted cats, but two spotted cats could produce marbles if they both carried for marble.

Just to add a marble to spotted can produce both types so yes a marble can produce a rosette (when put to a spot)

IF you want a golden cat with nicely contrasted markings look at the parents and look at their previous offspring & most importantly ask the breeder (.......but remember.......health above all else )

Thank you! I plan to ask the breeder as well I just thought I'd see if I could do my own research beforehand. Health, of course, is first, and I know I'll love any little furball that finds it's way to me. I'm just kind of a genetics fanatic so this kind of stuff interests me.
