Thanks for the honest opinions. Lucia wrote back to say that she cannot lower her price, which I respect. I've never been into bargaining, and certainly not for a living animal - maybe it's a male thing? OH bargains for everything, from Craigslist tables to chipped lamps at Target. I think it's in his nature.

To be fair to both of us, when we bonded with Stash it was love at first sight and neither of us hesitated to drop $1100 cash right there for him - the most expensive of all the kittens available, and he has been worth every penny. OH does want another cat, but only when the price and personality is right. I did think Lucia's prices were a bit high - she is sweet but has a "seller's attitude." She pitched us really hard on Charlie and continues to tell us that we are the only couple he has showed any affection towards. That seems a little out there to me. OH has suggested adopting, which I'm not opposed to and have done in the past, but Stash can play so rough and be so high energy that I'm concerned a cat of any other breed or age will either ignore him entirely or be terrorized by him. We didn't bond with Charlie immediately but I think at the time we were also still in the stage where we were comparing every kitten we saw to Stash. Now that he's become a little terror I think we can appreciate one with a more relaxed nature.

Unfortunately, at this point in time all the purse strings are held by the man of the house, so there's not much to be done about it otherwise.

Sounds like you have a BENGAL!!! Just kidding it sounds like he is a handful!!!! It could go in a few different ways! He could mellow out with the addition of a new kitten, he could become more amped up with playing and getting into things for attention and start to bully or they could become best friends and he could use all of that Bengal wild energy into play Who knows really what will happen. I know that is THE ONLY reason I dont have another is because BB is so good and content with her being the only cat! You really have to weigh the options. If it turned bad how would you deal that? For now though I dont think it would be wise to get Charlie. I know he is laid back and BEAUTIFUL but the thing is, I know you would want a more laid back Bengal, but is that what would benefit Stash? Would he like a more laid back docile buddy or would he rather have a buddy that is more like him and more on his level. I think the later would work out better for the both of you!
