Yeah, you need a DWA license for an F1 but borough councils all differ on what the requirements are, maybe not by much but it's something worth researching into.

There is a very long thread on here somewhere with UK breeders discussing EG's , from what I remember most councils in the UK require an f1 to be housed in an enclosure and cannot be kept in the house as a pet.

If you really want an EG, go for a Savannah. African Servals are more sociable and personable than Asian Leopard cats. I've met both F2 Savannahs and F2 Bengals and the latter was fearful of strangers but affectionate with other cats. F2 Savannahs are fearless and love everyone- even strangers. Of course, this applys to the ones I have met. Not all Savannahs and Bengals are alike. This website has a lot of information about both breeds that may help you decide which one will fit your lifestyle best.
