Well as you know i'm well my wy to researching to get my first Queen kitten.

I'm aware of what would be classed as a good type bengal, good profile puffy wisker pads & a broad nose etc. of course these traits come from there parentage, but what do i need to avoid?

I know when a kittens young you will have the 'fuzzy' stage, and it can be difficultto make out what potential her coat has. When i end up viewing a kitten I'll be looking at the parents and the rest of the litter to see how they all compare because ultimately its still gamble when you pick one, it may not turn out how you envisage... but we love them nonetheless..

When I went to see some kittens, Ultimately I went because of the parents pedigree's..

you can get a pretty good idea of what the babies will turn out like by studying pedigree's & seeing pictures of as many generations as you can...

once you have studied the genetic history then see the babies..
they will look like fluff balls..

Dont Just look at the pelts, look at the overall package.
study the GCCF & TICA required conformation..
If you have a good breeder, they will point you in the right direction..
at the end of the day, you will be showing 'their cattery off through your kitten/queen' so if they are worth theyre salt they will choose you a good quality baby to work with...

first you have to decide the type of cat you yourself could wake up day after day and have pride in. never just make do as most starters do including myself when i first started. i dont think that we here in the uk are sure of a breed standard and dont even think there is many judges that understand the bengal fully yet. i like to think of each one of mine as a oil painting, i can wake up each day and admire there beauty. there is very few breeders that will be truthful about what you are buying. the ones you want are the ones that the breeder is keeping back for themselves. start as you mean to go on and get the best you can find it will save you a fortune in time and money.
