Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and wanting a little advice. It won't e needed until a least a year down the line as at the moment, were looking for our first house. Once we are settled, I'd really love a Bengal. I'm more of a dog person, but then I love cats too I've just never had them around the house, I've always been attracted to the Maine coon and the Bengal, I used to know somebody with a Bengal and loved how playful, dog like, crazy yet loving he was! I have a few questions I'd like to throw out there, we both work full time, would we be better getting 2 kittens to give them someone to keep each other company? We will most days be able to get back on the middle of the day to see them if this is necessary. I want a cat that will be able to cope with the addition of a dog at some point as this will be inevitable when I can go part time. Obviously every animal is different and you can't guarantee that this will be the case but I'd rather the breed be easier to adjust in general if possible! I study a lot into animal behaviour and training so I'd like to be able to do some element of training with it especially using the clicker. If I had two, would this make it more difficult (as is with puppies). I know a lot of people lead train their bengals, how long a walk can they go on? As an average of course.
I would be researching a million and one things before I got one but thought I'd start with questions niggling me ATM a lot has brought me to wanting the Bengal for example the intelligence as trainabilty, they just seem to have so much to offer!
We also have a million and one reptiles as we breed them, along with a sulcata tortoise (which will of course grow huge) how well do you think they would adjust to living with such an animal? Or is it just a case of socialise socialise socialise!
Thanks in advance for all your help
